The Academic Staff Union of Universities has suspended the two week warning strike on Wednesday, 22 October, 2025.

The announcement was made by ASUU President, Professor Chris Piwuna at a news conference in Abuja. The union gives the Federal Government one-month to address the union's demand.

The warning strike, which began on 13 October, was a result of the delay in addressing the union's demands. After days of negotiations with the federal government, the union has decided to suspend the strike, giving a month ultimatum to the government.
