Funmilola Adediji  The University of Ibadan’s Student Affairs Division has on the 28th of February 2026, issued an important update regarding accommodation procedures for fresh students, following several reported hitches on the school’s accommodation portal. According to the statement released by the Dean of Students, Prof. Demola Lewis, the University apologised for the difficulties students faced while accessing the Accommodation Module on the UI Portal and confirmed that the major issues on the students’ portal have now been resolved. According to the update, the Basic Hall Dues have been reset to ₦4,000. Also, only students who have paid both Hall Fees and Hall Basic Dues will have their portal status change from REGISTERED to PAIDand those who paid only one of the required fees are directed to return to the portal and complete all necessary payments in order to be eligible for room allocation.   

Joy Olu-Ajayi  The Students’ Union has issued an official notice addressing concerns surrounding the recently released non-finalist results under the BOL category, following widespread confusion over the appearance of a “Withdrawal” status on the portal of some students. In a statement signed by the Students’ Union President, T. S. Adeboye, the Union acknowledged that several students particularly those in the Second Class Upper, Second Class Lower, and Third Class divisions had raised complaints after noticing the unexpected status attached to their academic records. According to the notice, the “Withdrawal” status may, in certain cases, be attributed to failure to meet the required pass units necessary for progression to the next academic level. This, the statement explained, could result in withdrawal from the department or faculty in line with existing academic regulations.   Joy Olu-Ajayi  The University of Ibadan has announced the opening of its accommodation portal for undergraduate students seeking spaces in the Halls of Residence (HoRs) for the 2025/2026 academic session. In a notice issued by the Student Affairs Division and signed by the Dean of Students, Prof. Demola Lewis, on the 26th of February 2026, a phased application schedule was outlined and it was stated that fresh students are expected to apply between the 26th of February and the 4th of March 2026, final year students from the 1st of March to the 6th of March 2026, and other returning students from 5th of March to 9th of March 2026. Postgraduate students however will be granted access to the accommodation module at a later date.   Adewale Amoo The University of Ibadan ’s Examinations Records and Administrative Data Processing Division (ERA), on 26th February 2026, announced the schedule for the collection of statements of results for the 2024/2025 graduates. In an internal memorandum released to the graduating Class of 2024/2025 through the Deputy Registrar, ERA, and signed by the Examinations Officer, Halimah O. Adeoye, the University outlined the process. “Further to the approval of the final-year results for the 2024/2025 academic session by the Senate, please note that the distribution of Statements of Results will take place at the Examinations Offices strictly according to the approved schedule for each Faculty,” the statement read.   Adewale Amoo Today, 26th February, 2026, the management of the University of Ibadan has updated the students’ portal for the 2025/2026 academic session. The portal has been reactivated for course registration, payment of school fees, and accommodation fees for the new academic session, 2025/2026. However as of the time of filing this report, the portal had not yet provided the specific amounts for school fees and accommodation for each student. To recall, the students’ portal is believed by the student community to be often reactivated after the Senate sits to consider and release the results of the previous session.

  C hidiebere David The University of Ibadan on February 11 2026, announced the closure of all undergraduate halls of residence for the 2024/2025 academic session.   Eniola Olagunju   The University of Ibadan (UI), through its Student Affairs Division, has on the 9th of January, 2026, directed all returning students seeking on-campus accommodation for the 2025/2026 academic session to complete the University Health Service (UHS) Requisite Form as part of the application process. According to an official notice issued by the Dean of Students, Dr. Demola Lewis, the completion of the UHS Requisite Form is a compulsory requirement for consideration for accommodation and must be done before students can proceed with hostel applications on the university portal. The notice states that the UHS Requisite Form will close by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, with no extension.
