 Election Activities to Commence as AFASIEC Lifts Ban

Election activities are set to commence as the Association of Faculty of Arts Independent Electoral Commission (AFASIEC) lifts ban.

The official announcement was made in a circulation in the early hours of Wednesday, 22 October, 2025, marking the commencement of the election process for the Faculty of Arts students. 

The announcement reads this:

“We are pleased to announce the lifting of the electoral ban, effective immediately. This marks the beginning of the election process for the Faculty of Arts students.”

The committee has called on aspiring candidates to purchase the election forms and contest for different positions once the sales of forms begin.

They further highlighted the eligibility criteria stating:

“All registered and financial students of the Faculty of Arts are eligible to contest.”

The Committee has also promised to give further details regarding the election process, timelines, and procedures.

 DR. AYODELE A. OSISANWO BECOMES FULL PROFESSOR AT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH Zenas Olanipekun Dr. Ayo Osisanwo of the Department of English, University of Ibadan has received his promotion to become a full Professor, effective October 1st, 2025 . He is now Professor Ayodele A. Osisanwo. His field cuts across Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis. In an interview with the NASELS Press, he admitted that the validation process started a year ago, but the journey itself involved burning the midnight oil, considering the number of papers he had to write and submit for assessment. When asked how he feels about the promotion, he said, “attaining the professorate is usually something of joy, something one prays about and something many desire."
