 UI Electoral Commission Lifts Ban on Campaign Activities

The Students’ Union Electoral Commission, University of Ibadan (SUECUI), has announced the official lifting of the campaign ban for the 2024/2025 academic session, effective from 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

According to the notice released by the Commission, the ban on all electioneering activities has been officially lifted, signalling the commencement of full electoral processes for the academic session.

The Commission also urged students to stay tuned for further updates on the collection and submission of nomination forms, as inquiries regarding the process can be directed to the Logistics Chairman. 

However, the UI Student’s’ Representative Council may not have approved this decision as the Council had not been able to sit in a while due to its failure to form a quorum.

 DR. AYODELE A. OSISANWO BECOMES FULL PROFESSOR AT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH Zenas Olanipekun Dr. Ayo Osisanwo of the Department of English, University of Ibadan has received his promotion to become a full Professor, effective October 1st, 2025 . He is now Professor Ayodele A. Osisanwo. His field cuts across Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis. In an interview with the NASELS Press, he admitted that the validation process started a year ago, but the journey itself involved burning the midnight oil, considering the number of papers he had to write and submit for assessment. When asked how he feels about the promotion, he said, “attaining the professorate is usually something of joy, something one prays about and something many desire." He is grateful to have achieved the great feat in a year stating the fact that the process is not usually easy.”  Professor Osisanwo is a widely published lecturer whose research has appeared in both national and international journals.
