University of Ibadan Releases Academic Calendar for the 2025/2026 Academic Session

The University of Ibadan has released the academic calendar for the 2025/2026 academic session, outlining the dates for the commencement of registration, lectures, examination periods, release of examination results and the commencement date of the 2026/2027 academic session.


According to the release, online registration for newly admitted students will commence on the 19th of January, 2026. Virtual orientation for new students will also begin on the same date and end the following day, 20th of January, 2026. In addition, five weeks of virtual lectures for fresh students will run from the 21st of January, 2026 to the 27th of February, 2026.


The release further states that physical resumption for new students is scheduled for 2nd of March, 2026, while returning students are expected to resume and commence online registration on the 5th of March, 2026. The matriculation ceremony has been fixed for the 11th of March, 2026.


As of the time of filing this report, a NASELS correspondent attempted to verify the authenticity of the release on the university’s official website but it had not yet been uploaded. However, in a brief conversation with a respectable UI student and educational consultant, Elijah Aderemi, who posted the release on his WhatsApp page, he confirmed that the release is authentic and emanated from the university management.

 DR. AYODELE A. OSISANWO BECOMES FULL PROFESSOR AT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH Zenas Olanipekun Dr. Ayo Osisanwo of the Department of English, University of Ibadan has received his promotion to become a full Professor, effective October 1st, 2025 . He is now Professor Ayodele A. Osisanwo. His field cuts across Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis.
