 Adewale Amoo

On Wednesday, 15th April 2026, the Oyo State Federal High Court reinstated three rusticated students of the University of Ibadan, Mide Gbadegesin, Ayodele Aduwo and Nice Linus, following the Central Students' Disciplinary Committee's (SDC) approval of a four-semester rustication for the students.

In a statement accessed via the WhatsApp page of one of the students, Ayodele Aduwo, he stated, "The Federal High Court, Ibadan Division, has ordered the immediate reinstatement of the UI3."

It will be recalled that the affected students were rusticated during the 2024/2025 academic session following their display of placards inscribed with "Fees Must Fall" during the 2023/2024 Students' Union swearing-in ceremony led by Bolaji Aweda.

As at the time of filing this report, our correspondent's attempts to communicate with any of the affected students were unsuccessful. Any further information regarding this matter will be reported promptly.
