UI Maintains Registration Deadline, Advises NELFUND Applicants to Exercise Patience

The management of the University of Ibadan, in an internal memorandum released 16th April, 2026, has reaffirmed that the stipulated timeframe for the registration deadline and portal closure for the 2025/2026 academic session has been maintained in consideration of the recently published timeline for the process.


In an internal memorandum signed by the institution's registrar, G.O. Saliu, it was stated that "All students are hereby informed that the recently published registration timeline remains in full effect."


The management reaffirmed that the designated timeline for the registration process is still being maintained and remains effective, with registration opening until 30th April 2026 and closing on 1st May 2026.


"The registration portal for the 2025/2026 session is open until 30th April 2026 and closes on 1st May 2026, as previously communicated," the memorandum stated.


The statement further addressed the concerns of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), advising every applicant to exercise patience. It stated that all applications are in the review process, assuring that students awaiting NELFUND disbursement will not be left disadvantaged, even if the NELFUND disbursement comes late.


It will be recalled that the Students' Union President, T.S. Adeboye, released a statement concerning this matter on 14th April 2026.

OSISANWO BECOMES FULL PROFESSOR AT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH Zenas Olanipekun Dr. Ayo Osisanwo of the Department of English, University of Ibadan has received his promotion to become a full Professor, effective October 1st, 2025 . He is now Professor Ayodele A. Osisanwo. His field cuts across Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis. In an interview with the NASELS Press, he admitted that the validation process started a year ago, but the journey itself involved burning the midnight oil, considering the number of papers he had to write and submit for assessment.
